One of the most fascinating historical periods in automotive design was the Art Déco era, when cars were considered works of art rather than mere means of transportation. To capture the elegance and majesty of this period, the designer chose to revive the spirit of Duesenberg, a brand renowned for creating automotive masterpieces.
The designer’s modern reinterpretation of Duesenberg vehicles pays homage to the style and historical context of the brand. Drawing inspiration from the Duesenberg Model J Long Wheelbase, SSJ, and SJ Speedster, the designer focused on crafting a car that reflects the Art Déco aesthetic.
The side profile of the car features a design that plays with light and shadow, showcasing a very long bonnet and tail that impart a sinuous and elegant appearance typical of Art Déco styling. The front wheel arch emerges from the lower part of the side and extends outward, creating the impression of a floating wheel arch. This design element leads into the front bumper, which resembles eagle wings and incorporates the distinctive recessed and chrome grille of the Duesenberg. The front bumper includes a continuous LED light strip, with two circular LEDs positioned at the lower part, while the headlights are located at the ends.
The rear wheel arch extends beyond the tire and flows into the tail, which culminates in a LED light. Below this, two circular LEDs are included as a tribute to the Duesenberg Model D.
For the interior, the designer aimed to create a seamless, sensual, and elegant space by using material changes to define different areas. The passenger compartment features a white silk seat inspired by wedding dresses, merging with the door. On the right side, this seat functions as a passenger seat and ends in a train-like extension. On the left side, it serves as a support base for the driver’s seat. The driver’s seat is designed with minimalism and elegance in mind, and the steering wheel has a retro style to evoke the historical models of the Duesenberg brand.
